This west coast native tan oak is a handsome and easy addition to the summer-dry garden or street-side landscape. Sword shaped leaves are dark green with a silvery underside. Tall, stately evergreen to 50 ft or more. Full to part sun, no summer water once established. These plants from acorns gathered in southern Oregon’ Siskiyou Mountains. Hardy to -5 degrees, USDA Zone 6b.

Formerly categorized as Lithocarpus, this species is now under genus Notholithocarpus.
