This widespread ground-covering sage native to Baja, CA has an equally wide variety of habitats -- this particular collection being from the SW flanks of of Mt Shasta in Siskiyou County. Native colonies are subjected to a fair amount of winter cold and wet, albeit in gritty volcanic soil. Forms tight, low-growing mounds to 5" high x 3-4' wide, with grey-blue leaves and amethyst flowers. Easy in the garden in full sun and well-draining soil. Avoid irrigating when hot. Hardy to USDA zone 7.
