Good looking all year; springtime flowers are white on short stalks. Well suited to urban environments, shady courtyards and under established trees. Tolerates periods of drought when established but best with water a few times a month in summer. Light to deep shade with at least decent drainage. Not picky. Evergreen in USDA zone 7, root hardy in zone 4.
