Our collection of the native plantain from a favorite sea stack on the southern Oregon coast. Bold, almost tropical looking foliage, rounded and furry to 6" with tall slender spikes of, lets say architectural, green flowers on stalks to a foot or more, followed by bronzy seeds. Able to withstand summer drought, going dormant in extremes, with strong growth when moisture returns. USDA Zone 8, if not 7. Full sun to dappled shade.
